NOTICE: ROAD CLOSURES - JUNE 13, 2019
CR 279 near Post Oak Bend Store will be closed for two hours this morning. Please detour to CR 277 and then CR 278 to get to FM 987 for construction crews to put down oil and sealcoat the road. Once they are finished near the store, they will move to the other section on
CR 279 past CR 277 and the road will be closed for approximately 2 hours there while they do the same process.
CR 277 will be closed for a short time after the crews finish CR 279.
Roads Update: Road Improvements near completion. Crews and construction equipment are expected to be out on CR 279 the second week of June as improvements continue. Please note that drivers may detour down CR 277 to CR 278 to avoid the construction. Please drive slowly if you must travel down CR 279 until the work is completed.
CR 279 Construction crews are repairing what their company considered the two worst sections of CR 279. They're expecting to remove some dirt from one side of road that has caused problems for finishing up the road repairs. It has been too wet, the company said, to remove it with an excavator. If weather permits, they will move forward on that effort early in the second week of June, and then place oil and sealcoat the two road sections. This road project was begun in early May after Mayor Bedrick and the 2019 council approved it. It is expected to be completed by the end of the 2nd week of June, weather permitting.
CR 277 - Crews are wrapping up road improvements on the two small sections of CR 277. The company working this projject determined the sections, and did repairs on a smaller scale than CR 279.
CR 280 and 281 - The road projects approved last August (2018) by then council and mayor for Cr 280 and 281 have just recently been completed.
CR 278 - This road project also approved August 2018 has also been completed. Improvements were made from FM 987 to past the City Hall/Community Center after determining that approximate 1300 foot section was in the worst condition of Cr 278.
