Kaufman County Burn Ban Has Been Lifted
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The burn ban in Kaufman County will be allowed to expire at midnight tonight (Nov 1, 2017), according to Kaufman County Fire Marshal Randy Richards.
The Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court enacted the burn ban on September 18, 2017, during
a special-called Commissioners’ Court meeting, after a recommendation by Richards based on fire danger and drought conditions.
The City of Post Oak Bend has a trash collection ordinance and franchise ordinance in place. Please contact
the City at firstname.lastname@example.org or 214.686.8887 to get an update on which companies have permits to operate in the City. The City
will list those trash collection companies legally authorized to service residents shortly. If you see
trash collectors operating from an unmarked pickup truck and/or with open trailer, please contact the City at 214.686.8887,
and let the City know when, where and what time this took place.
The City of Post Oak Bend revised Building Code is in place, effective March 2014. A building permit is required to construct a residential structure, accessory or shop building, garage, pool and commercial structures. Contractors (electricians, plumbers,general contractors, etc) are required to be registered with the City on an annual basis. Speed Limits on City/County Roads
Speed limits are not to exceed 35 miles an hour on County Roads 277, 278, 279, 280, 281 located in the City Limits. This includes all of CR 279 and CR 280.
Post Oak Bend City residents are encouraged to take precautions against mosquitos who may transmit West Nile Virus:
1. Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water so regularly drain standing water, including that in buckets, tires, cans, clogged rain gutters and saucers under potted plants.
2. Use an approved insect repellant when you go outdoors; approved are those that contain DEET, picaridin or oil of lemon eucalyptus. (Texas Department of State Health Services)
3. Wear long sleeves and pants outside at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active.
Kaufman County Emergency Management will be monitoring the West Nile Virus situation, along with the State, in Kaufman County.
